Molecules for medicinal chemistry obtained in a single step.
Used in medicinal chemistry or agrochemicals, polycyclic molecules need nitrogen for their synthesis, a dozen long and laborious steps represent a major obstacle for potential industrial development. Researchers from the Institute of Chemistry of environments and materials of Poitiers (CNRS / Université de Poitiers) and Organic Chemistry Laboratory (ULB) have developed a new method of synthesis that allows access these molecules in a single step, paving the way for many industrial applications. This work is the subject of a publication in J. Am. Chem. Soc.
