Grégory Chatel selected to represent the younger generation of European chemistry at the American Chemical Society.

Grégory Chatel, Associate Professor at the University of Poitiers in the Poitiers Institute of Chemistry, Materials and Media (IC2MP) was selected, along with five other European chemists under 35 for the ‘5th Young Chemists Crossing Borders “to represent the European chemistry 250th ACS National Meeting and Exposition, Boston (Massachusetts, USA).
This European award criteria was the quality of the research, the level of scientific expertise and commitment to national and international scientific community. The “Young Chemists Crossing Borders” program was set up by the Network of Young Chemists Europeans (EYCN) and the Network of Young Chemists of the American Chemical Society (YCC). The six winners selected by an international jury were invited to present their work in Boston this August.

– Work Grégory Chatel concern the use of ultrasound to assist chemical reactions. Indeed, sonochemistry is an innovative technology used especially as non-conventional activation method in catalytic processes. Gregory has recently published three new publications on the subject of which has made the cover of ChemCatChem.

Other Grégory Chatel research themes are:
– The valuation of lignocellulosic biomass
– The selective oxidation reactions in terms of eco-compatible

Grégory Chatel conducts research in the Catalysis and non-conventional media team (E4) of IC2MP.
