Current Fields of Research

Theoretical and experimental characterization of the physical properties (mechanical and electromagnetic) clay geomaterials.

Modeling “micro-macro” mechanical properties of clay geomaterials (soils and rocks) for a better understanding of the relationship between microstructure and macroscopic mechanical behavior.

Training through research

February to August 1991: Work graduation in the Department of Marine Geotechnics of the French Institute of Petroleum for graduation in engineering from the Institute of Science and Technology of the University Pierre et Marie Curie Option: Geophysics, Geotechnics.

June 1992: Graduate Studies Deepen Mechanics of Solids and Structures (Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris VI). Option: Non-linear Mechanics.

28 Oct. 96: Defense of PhD at the University Pierre et Marie Curie on the topic “On the coupling between mechanical behavior and mass transfer processes in the rock salt.” Honorable Mention Très with congratulations of the jury. Thesis prepared within the Group for the Study of Underground Structures Storage (G.3S) / Laboratory of Solid Mechanics from Ecole Polytechnique (Palaiseau).

1 September 97: Recruitment as Lecturer (Section CNU 35). Assigned to teaching at the Ecole Polytechnique Universitaire (UPR) of the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC) (formerly Institute of Science and Technology).

16 September 08: Defense of Habilitation Research at the University Pierre et Marie Curie on the topic “Relations between physical properties (geomechanical, petrophysical and electromagnetic) and state variables water geomaterials.”
